NEW ITEMS INTRODUCED TO THE DISTINCTIVE GIFT COLLECTION AT BAKER KNAPP & TUBBS SHOWROOMS AND BAKER STORES

CHICAGO (June 27, 2005) — Eight new pieces have been added to the growing collection of exclusive gifts now available at Baker Knapp & Tubbs Showrooms and Baker Stores. Ranging in price from $90 to $220, these rare items reflect the unparalleled craftsmanship and artistry that have defined the home furnishings produced by Baker for over a century and available in limited quantities only to ensure their uncommon nature.

The Baker Gift Collection, now in its second year, is an exclusive program born from the desire to offer clients a selection of sophisticated accessories and tabletop items. New items are introduced annually after an extensive search to create a singular assortment. Exquisite and eye-catching, each piece comes elegantly ensconced in a signature black silk Thai box perfectly prepared for gift giving.

Fashioned of exceptional materials drawn from and inspired by the natural world, this new selection includes rock crystal, quartz crystal and lead crystal items as well as pewter, gold leafed lacquer and unique tortoise mother of pearl. "We have gone to great lengths to seek out items which are beautiful, uncommon and, like all Baker products, exquisitely crafted," explained K. Tyler, senior manager — merchandising and accessories, Baker Knapp & Tubbs, Inc. "Each chosen for its individuality, these unique pieces are sure to be enjoyed and admired for a lifetime."

The sophisticated designs includes a votive cup constructed of sleek, polished pewter coral branches to impart a web of candlelit radiance, a quartz cluster sculpture paperweight, and a sensuous bowl and tealight holder carved from luminous gold rock crystal. Another set of horsehair votive cups have been painstakingly lacquered in ebony and inlaid on the interior with pure gold leaf.

Also available will be a coaster set and cube frame, both overlaid in a marquetry pattern of rich brown and amber mother of pearl resembling lustrous tortoise shell. Finally, a Deco-inspired leaded crystal decanter with golden rock crystal stopper is a show-stopper — handsome, chic and certain to make a statement in any setting.
